Our Designs

Made to be mixed

Almost all our designs are planned to sit beautifully together. Their colours share the same tones, or are different tones of the same colour, so you can mix and match with confidence, knowing nothing will clash.

A Punya parasol beside a Sea Story gazebo, Anaar napkins on a Blue Skies tablecloth: put together whatever delights you, and it will look as though it was always meant to be. If you'd like a second opinion on a particular pairing, we're always happy to help.

Punya

Issy drawing the Punya design in coloured pencil at a table set with a blue and white block-printed cloth

There's a particular kind of peace that settles over a garden on a warm afternoon, and Punya seems to hold it in every line.

The design was inspired by the ancient patterns of Rajasthan, and Issy drew it entirely afresh for us. Its name comes from the Hindi word for the manifestation of good karma: the warm feeling of calm, goodness and peace that comes from a life well lived. We can't think of a lovelier thing to sit beneath.

Dressed in the full glory of the classic Jaipur festival colours, pink and orange, Punya is vibrant and joyful, yet somehow restful too. Each canopy is hand block-printed in Jaipur by the family who have made our parasols for four generations, so the design returns, in a sense, to the part of India whose patterns first inspired it.

It has become one of our most loved designs, and we adore it as much for its meaning as for its colour. Every day is a sunny day beneath Punya.

Punya is available as a Horkesley Luxury Garden Parasol, a Comberton Pop-up Gazebo and an Astell Indian Garden Tent, and as a tablecloth that has become a favourite with brides and families alike, bringing its warmth to wedding tables and long summer lunches.

Sea Story

Sea Story is Punya's gentler sister. She shares the same lovely design, but in place of the bright festival pinks and oranges, she is dressed in soft greens and cornflower blues, as cool and calm as a summer sea.

Her name has a story all of its own. Sea Story was a racehorse bred by Polly's mother. When her racing days were over, she was retrained to event with Susie, Polly's co-founder. She was a beautiful, peaceful soul with the most gentle heart, and her name could not have suited this design more perfectly.

Sea Story is available as a Horkesley Luxury Garden Parasol, a Comberton Pop-up Gazebo and an Astell Indian Garden Tent.

Corniche

Picture a summer's morning on the Riviera: the roof down, the sea glittering below, and a winding coast road stretching ahead with nowhere you need to be.

So many of you asked us for a stripe, and we wanted ours to carry that feeling of the Mediterranean. Corniche takes its name from those famous roads that hug the coastline, and from the joy of a romantic couple travelling along them in an open-top sports car, the salt breeze in their hair and the whole day before them.

Its stripes of Mediterranean blue, cherry red and crisp white are fresh and sunlit, with an easy elegance that feels just as at home beside a pool as on a country lawn. Beneath Corniche, every lunch feels a little like a holiday.

Corniche is available as a Horkesley Luxury Garden Parasol, a Comberton Pop-up Gazebo in 3x3m, an Astell Indian Garden Tent and a tablecloth.

Anaar

Anaar is the Hindi word for pomegranate, a fruit cherished across India as a symbol of abundance and new life. Our design tells its whole story: the leaf, the flower, the fruit and the seed pod, unfolding across the canopy like a garden through the seasons.

It comes in two colourways, each with its own devoted following.

Anaar Bliss is our best seller, and it's easy to see why. Its soft pinks, greens and blues have a gentle, dreamy warmth, like the first evening of summer when the light lingers and nobody wants to go inside.

Anaar Mist is the quieter sister. Her soft sage and gentle greens make a beautifully calm palette, and she's the one garden designers and decorators reach for time and again. She sits beautifully among planting and stonework, letting the garden around her shine.

Anaar Bliss and Anaar Mist are available as a Horkesley Luxury Garden Parasol, a Comberton Pop-up Gazebo, an Astell Indian Garden Tent, and as napkins. Cushion covers and sunbed covers can be made by special request.

Blue Skies

Every story has a beginning, and ours began with Blue Skies.

It was the very first design we chose, long before we had a collection to speak of, and it isn't one of our own exclusives. But some designs simply find their way into your heart, and this one has never left ours. Our customers have loved it from the start too, and it remains one of our most popular designs. We adore it every bit as much today as we did on that first summer.

In fresh blues and crisp whites, and every bit as cheerful as its name, Blue Skies brings a little sunshine to any garden, whatever the forecast says.

Blue Skies is available as a Horkesley Luxury Garden Parasol, a Comberton Pop-up Gazebo and an Astell Indian Garden Tent. Napkins and tablecloths are held in stock, and sunbed cushions can be made by special request.

Hartpury

Some designs you can let go of. Hartpury, it turned out, was not one of them.

We rested her for a year, and in that time so many of you wrote asking for her return that we simply had to bring her back. We missed her too, if we're honest.

Dressed in soft pinks and greens, everyone's favourite pairing, she's delicate and very, very pretty, with the kind of quiet charm that rewards a second look. Beneath Hartpury, a garden feels gentler somehow, as though the afternoon has slowed down just for you.

Hartpury is available as a Horkesley Luxury Garden Parasol, a Comberton Pop-up Gazebo, an Astell Indian Garden Tent and as napkins.

Blenheim

We took Blenheim away for just one season. Our customers made it very clear that this would not do.

So she's back, and we couldn't be happier to see her. Blenheim shares Hartpury's pinks and greens, but she is altogether bolder: her pink flowers burst across the canopy in a flamboyant flourish of colour. She's made for grand summer parties and long, exuberant lunches, and she never fails to lift the spirits.

Blenheim is available as a Horkesley Luxury Garden Parasol, a Comberton Pop-up Gazebo and an Astell Indian Garden Tent.

Ascot Pink

Some patterns have been loved for centuries, and Ascot Pink is one of them. It grew from a traditional Indian motif, a softly repeating leaf in gentle pink on cream, which translates beautifully to a canopy.

Elegant and calm, Ascot Pink brings a quiet grace to any garden, from a cottage lawn edged with lavender to a long lunch for friends. It is relentlessly popular, and we can quite see why.
