Parasol-UK Announces Partnership With National Garden Scheme

Parasol-UK is delighted to announce an exclusive partnership with one of the UK’s most beloved gardening organisations, the National Garden Scheme. One of a small, select group of exclusive horticultural and lifestyle brands supporting the National Garden Scheme, Parasol-UK is in good company alongside gardening expert, Sarah Raven, and Crocus, the UK's leading gardening website. Parasol-UK will be donating 3% of their sales to National Garden Scheme to support the inspirational work that they do in supporting charities doing crucial work whilst making gardens accessible for everyone.

The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private gardens in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, and raises impressive amounts of money for some of the UK's best-loved nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake.

Teas are a big part of the NGS Open Garden experience!

Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors, National Garden Scheme has donated more than £70 million to their beneficiary charities, and in 2023 made donations of over £3.4 million. Founded in 1927 to support district nurses, National Garden Scheme is now the most significant charitable funder of nursing in the UK and their beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.

Horkesley Hall

Parasol-UK, purveyors of beautiful British designed, Indian-made parasols, have a longstanding connection to the National Garden Scheme. Founder, Polly Eddis, with her husband, Johnny, is the owner of Horkesley Hall, an eight-acre family garden surrounding a Grade II listed house, which has opened for the National Garden Scheme for the last 30 years. A visit to Horkesley Hall, through the National Garden Scheme, will give visitors the opportunity to see Polly’s passion for snowdrops with over 180 varieties alongside multiple varieties of Iris and Rose that sit amongst spectacular ancient trees in the 8 acre garden, including what is said to be the largest Gingko outside Kew Gardens, as seen below:

With a love for beautiful gardens and making time spent outside as pleasurable as possible, Parasol-UK was born, which makes unique boutique parasols distinctive with their beautiful block print design on the underside of the elegant, waterproof canopy, and are available in seven colour choices.

With our garden having been part of the National Garden Scheme for many decades, I understand the importance and profundity of their work to support such hardworking charities which have benefited someone known to us all,, as well as the sheer joy that so many people experience in exploring beautiful gardens throughout the country. We are proud to now be a National Garden Scheme partner and donate 3% of our sales to their continued efforts,” says Polly Eddis, founder of Parasol-UK.

Parasol-UK also produce beautiful cushions, homeware and distinctive nightwear

In addition to the parasols, the brand has expanded to include other affordable luxuries for homes and gardens including textile cushions, rugs and bathmats as well as napkins and tablecloths to complement the parasols. In December 2023, they were delighted to be invited to join the prestigious Buy Women Built platform for women-led businesses and in March 2024 became a supporter of the National Garden Scheme (NGS), donating 3% to the NGS who is the most significant charitable funder of nursing in the UK with beneficiaries including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.

Information about the National Garden Scheme

The National Garden Scheme doesn’t just open beautiful gardens for charity – we are passionate about the physical and mental health benefits of gardens too. We fund projects  which promote gardens and gardening as therapy, and in 2017, we launched our annual Gardens and Health Week to raise awareness of the topic. Our funding also supports the training of gardeners and offers respite to horticultural workers who have fallen on difficult times.
