Sunshine and Thousands: Highlights From Our 3rd Year At Badminton
What a phenomenal week! Ros Canter and Lordship's Graffalo gave an absolute masterclass, and as they always do, made it look effortless thanks to years and years of preparation, serious hard work and the inevitable frustrations which go with such a triumph. Huge congratulations to Ros and all the competitors from Parasol-UK.
Every day, crowds swarmed and our stand was buzzing from 8am to 6pm and beyond at the truly magnificent Mars Badminton Horse Trials. This was our third year at the event, and by far the busiest — we welcomed thousands of visitors who came to investigate our beautiful parasols and gazebos and the block-printed quilts and homewares we had brought to the show. Of course we loved making the sales, but we loved your enthusiasm and appreciation just as much. It was a joy, albeit a tiring one!

With so many engaging conversations, a few questions came up time and again — so we thought we’d answer the most popular ones here:
FAQs
Q: Can you leave them in the rain?
A: Yes, you can! Technically, we say our parasols are water-resistant, but in reality, they’re closer to waterproof. Think of them like a good quality canvas tent — unless you’re dealing with serious sideways rain, you’ll stay perfectly dry beneath them.
Q: What are the frames made from?
Our frames are made from sustainable white cedar — a pale, smooth wood with a beautiful natural figure that feels luxurious to the touch. They're designed to last and look good doing it.

Q: How long do they take to arrive?
We aim to dispatch in-stock items ordered by noon on that same day with 48-hour delivery. During busy periods (like after a show!) it may take a day or two extra. For bespoke or out-of-stock pieces, lead times vary — please do discuss this with us.
Q: What sort of base do I need?
We recommend using a stabiliser or base beneath a table. If you prefer it freestanding, sign up to our newsletter — while we don't currently supply bases, we're working on it. We'll send you a short guide with a recommended option when you purchase.

Q: Where are they made?
Our designs are inspired by the romance and spirit of India — and that’s exactly where they’re made. Almost every piece is handmade by our own family-run workshop. We work closely with our makers to ensure quality and soul in every item.
Q: Do you design them all yourselves?
Yes — we offer 3 sizes and 7 colourways, all exclusive to us. Inspired by Indian vibrance, English gardens, and the joy of outdoor living, there’s something for every mood and setting.
Thank you to everyone who came to see us — whether you bought a parasol, asked a question, or simply stepped under one for a moment of shade. We left Badminton utterly exhausted, but completely inspired.
Here’s to many more glorious parasol days ahead — see you next week at Chelsea Barracks where House & Garden Magazine is hosting a beautiful fair with music, coffee, Pimm
